Last night was a HARD loss to end the season.

Through a lot of obstacles facing the BIGGEST physically team we’ve faced and missing one of our key players.

These boys went out fighting this season. Heads held high and coaches fighting for them to the last second.

This team has become a family and we cannot wait for until next year.

Thank you for your support on our first year of rebranding our program.

Miss Judi had three grandsons playing our program this year. Another grandson coaching flag football and her son is our Head 3/4 coach.

We really love this small town and the family its beings along with it.

“Mike and I were the rocket directors for about 10 years in the late 80s-early 90s. We know how much work and dedication goes into running a great program. We have been so impressed with what you and Rachel Carley have done this year! And so proud of the integrity, character and sportsmanship you, your coaches and your players are building. We see excellence in every aspect of the program. Thank you for investing in our kids and in our community. I’m so grateful that you decided to move to Athens!

And a huge thank you also goes out to Dylan Henckel, Mike Kincaid, Drew Duncan (Malorie Duncan), Sam Morris and your brother whose name I haven’t learned yet(sorry!).

It takes a special group of men to work together selflessly to build a great high school football team. I’ve watched it happen in Athens only a couple of times in the past 40 years, and every time, it’s been a dedicated group of men who are committed to each doing their part, staying with the team every year through the rocket years, who are the backbone upon which that great team was built.

Yes, the players are the ones who have to play well to win, but they can’t do that without being taught all of the things it takes to become champions.

I can see that backbone in all of you as, together, you are shaping every single player on your team into champions. And I’m especially proud to watch you build champions focused on integrity, character and good sportsmanship. It’s a great time to be an Indian! And, I have no doubt that we will be watching a great high school football team in Athens in a few years 💜💜💜💜”nelh

Athens Youth Wrestling Club is back! Under new direction and new coaching! Kicks off week of November 10th.

We’re hoping to have as many of our football kids sign up and keep them conditioned and gaining strength throughout our off season. No obligation to do tournaments.
