Workout Wednesday - the LONG RUN
There are long runs, and then there is the LONG RUN. You know the one… the longest LONG RUN in the whole marathon training block. Science has shown anything over 3 hours is increasing injury risk more than fitness, and delaying your ability to recover and build on your training. That’s why we always recommend training your long runs to time rather than distance. Train to 180 minutes, then let the recovery and cumulative weekly mileage do their work and carry you the distance on race day
