Learning from my dog

A customer came to drop off a deer, and couldnt avoid a toy getting dropped at his feet. Marshall, always wanting a game of fetch wherever he can get it. Customer told me he knew that he was a good and loyal dog because he watched me. Said he followed me every step and was ready to do whatever I wanted him to.
I thought you know, people should be able to say the same about me. We should keep our eyes on Jesus and in the Word. We should always be close to God and strive to grow in our relationship with Him. When He has something for us, we’re better poised to not miss it. How do people see that right off though? It’s easy for a dog, hard to see in a stranger. We do it through love. In John 13:35, Jesus tells his disciples “all men will know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one another.” Love people like Jesus did. Look at them like Jesus did. A person is a creation of the Almighty, and deserves to be treated as such. Hebrews 12:14 says to “follow peace and holiness with all men, without which no one will see the Lord.” Don’t let people see you. Let them see the love that God has for you shining through. That is a transformative love, and an infectious love. When you’re filled with it, you can’t help but let it spill out. Tell them why you have such hope. So be like a dog, and keep your eyes on your Master. Be ready. Mark 13:33 says “take heed, watch and pray.” Get close to God with prayer and watch Him, not the darkness in our country and world. He is the light that darkness flees from. Walk with the Lord, and you cannot lose.
