Thirteen years!
I began bow hunting when I was 13 years old, and finally at 26 I arrowed my first bow buck. Last Friday night I decided to a hang and hunt on a part of the farm I had never hunted. I found lots of fresh buck sign close to thick bedding and where white oaks were dropping. That was all I needed to see! I climbed right there and settled in for the evening.
Early in the hunt a small doe came by and then nothing for a couple hours. At six o’clock a spike and small rack seven point began feeding toward me. After a few minutes this guy joined them! My heart beat got faster and faster as they got closer and closer. Finally this beautiful buck presented me with a 26 yard shot and I took it. The hit was minimal and after tracking this buck until midnight Trey and I backed out. I had a prior engagement the next morning but Trey, Josh, and my Dad went in and found him.
After 13 years of riding the roller coaster that is bow hunting I was finally able to close the deal! I am so thankful for the passion God has given me for chasing these beautiful animals. I am also thankful for what has already been a killer year for The Narrow Way.
Keep hunting friends, Isaac
