Step Into Your Story is an immersive retreat for writers, artists, seekers, and curious humans interested in exploring the narratives that shape their lives and creative work. Through workshops, storytelling, writing, reflection, and community, we'll journey through memory, imagination, archetype, play, and possibility, listening for the deeper stories beneath the surface and the emerging stories calling us forward.

February 21-27; held at Story Parlor.

Rather than focusing only on writing craft, we'll explore creativity as a way of living.
Throughout the retreat you'll experience:

The Earth Gift Ritual is an immersive and thoughtfully crafted experience designed to deepen connection to self, others, and the living Earth through embodied creativity, sensory exploration, imagination, reflection, and meaningful ritual.

Integrating somatic grounding, symbolic inquiry, creative expression, relational witnessing, and nature-based elements, this offering invites participants into a slower, more intentional space of presence and reverence. Through engagement with intentionally curated, sustainably & ethically harvested natural objects, guided visualization, reflective writing or art-making, gentle community connection and collective ritual, participants are encouraged to reconnect with their inner landscape, creative intuition, and sense of belonging within the greater web of life.

Rooted in warmth, safety, accessibility, and emotional attunement, the Earth Gift Ritual offers an experience that can feel nourishing, restorative, inspiring, and quietly transformative.

This full-bodied, approachable poetry class will guide you from "Ooof, poetry" to "Where's my journal?!" by cultivating attention. We'll take notice of neon color palettes, everyday coffee-shop conversation, rhythmic twitches in the body, the gruff and warm-hearted voice of life, and see what happens when we revolutionize those notice-ings into language. Weaving together exploration of poetic elements + form, guided discussion, and past poetic works, we'll build a fun, creative play space! Plus, writing time to build confidence and craft. This class immerses itself in artful experimentation and skill building. It's the ultimate permission slip to be a beginner or to rediscover.

It feels that we're on a losing streak — losing so many of our elder creative inspirations and guides. But fortunately they leave behind their work. Their words and songs and ideas continue to serve as wayfinders for we who are still on our own creative paths.

As the poet Wendell Barry wrote, "when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey."

If you're feeling like there's been *too many losses* from the art world this week ... we're feeling it, too.

But we are glad for a reminder of the brilliance of Yayoi Kusama, who chose to live and create on her own terms. Her story is one of, if not OVERCOMING mental health struggles, then finding a way to express her struggle and her unique perspective through her visionary work.
