This landing is the take out landing for the 3rd section of the Waccamaw River Blue Trail. Here is the link to the Babson's landing https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560074609564 , which is the the put-in landing for the 3rd section.

This landing is almost 36 miles from the dam according to the Blue Trail guide. It has a large gravel parking area with 2 hard surfaced boat launches.

For Kayakers that are through paddling the whole Waccamaw River, this landing is usually the 1st stop for the night.

The landing does not have a Porta-Potty.

This post will show the trails that explore around the Pireway Landing.

The 1st trail went 4 miles downriver. It went past Hobbs Family Campground. The trail turned around before it reached Marlow Branch. The loop ended up being 8.2 miles long.

The 2nd trail went about 1.5 miles upriver and then back to Pireway Landing. The trail turned around, just as it reached Joe Lake.

The 3rd trail went upriver 2.4 miles and back.

This trail technically goes from Babsons Landing to Pireway. But if you want to go upriver from Pireway, you can still track your paddle using this map.

This landing is the put-in landing for a highly used part of the Waccamaw River, which is approximately 17 miles. The take out landing is usually the Chris Anderson Landing. There is a landing called Wortham's Landing that will be passed along the way, but most kayakers go all the way to Chris Anderson Landing. You will crossover the state line to South Carolina when you do this paddle.

Unfortunately this trail stopped tracking just before Chris Anderson Landing. Turn to the right at the end of this trail and Chris Anderson Landing is about 2/10 mile away.

A trail has been added that started at Pireway Landing and ends at Wortham's Landing. It is 12.2 miles long.
