2013. A basement workshop. A bare bench and four things on it: a few LED light strips, wire, a carbon arrow shaft, and a soldering iron.
The question was not how do we make it brighter. It was not how do we make it cheaper. It was this: how do we make an unbreakable navigation light?
Because the light that fails you is the one that caught a limb at 4 a.m. and never came back on. Everybody out here has owned that light. Most people have owned three.
That arrow shaft is the tell. This got built on a bench, out of what was already on hand.
The 004-WW-13 is what the answer looks like now. Unbreakable top lens. 360 degree fold-away shaft. USCG 2NM. Made in USA. Limited lifetime warranty.
