Amigos de las Américas: Washington, D.C. Chapter AMIGOS envisions a world where each young person becomes a life-long catalyst for social change.

The Washington DC Chapter of Amigos de las Américas is currently seeking young adults for an exceptional and challenging experience in Latin America in summer 2012. After training throughout the winter and spring, high school students from the Washington DC area will join over 600 other Amigos volunteers from other parts of the United States to provide community service in Panama, the D

ominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru or Costa Rica for six to eight weeks next summer while living with a local family.

Along with earning service hours for school, students will have an opportunity to engage meaningfully with the community through hands-on projects focused on economic empowerment, community environment and healthy living.
