We also recognized three athletes who have dedicated years to our program and helped build the culture of Valley View Wrestling:

Apollo Kazmierski has wrestled for Valley View for five years and will be attending Lackawanna College, studying Petroleum and Natural Gas Technology.
Cooper Rawlings began in our feeder program and has wrestled four years with the high school program. He will be attending Misericordia University to study Physical Therapy.
Emily Claps has wrestled for three years and will be attending the University of Scranton, studying Chemistry and Nuclear Chemistry.

Your dedication, resilience, and leadership have left a lasting mark on this program. We are proud of you and excited for what’s next.

Another first in Valley View girls wrestling as Taylor Shaheen gets the victory at 124 pounds over Wilmoth of DuBois by a 6-0 decision in her opening match.

Today, the Blakely Police Department is proud to es**rt the Valley View Cougars Wrestling Team to the highway as they head to the Regional competition.

This group of young men and women has put in the work all season. Early mornings, long practices, tough matches. They earned this opportunity.

We are honored to send them off the right way and show them that their community stands behind them.

Good luck to the Valley View Cougars. Travel safe, wrestle hard, and make us proud. Go Cougars.

The Valley View Boys and Girls Wrestling Team compete in the PIAA District 2 individual championship this weekend at Wilkes-Barre High School. The boys had 3 place winners. Two of the boys finished 5th and 1 won the 152 weight class and will move on to the regional championship next weekend. The girls had 4 place winners with two 6th places and 2 fourth places. Two of the girls will move on to the regional championships next weekend. These two girls became Valley View's first-ever regional qualifiers in school history. Ty Giles won the 152 weight class to become a District Champion and regional qualifier. Jackson Healey placed 5th. James Scagsliotti placed 5th. Taylor Shaheen placed 4th and is a regional qualifier. Amsi Garriga-Diaz placed 4th and is a regional qualifier. Alexis Lamolly placed 6th and Kerrigan Sprague placed 6th. All the boys and girls wrestled with heart and pride.
