SERIES RECAP: FIRST WIN IN HEAT HISTORY!
The weekend didn't start the way we wanted, but it ended with a moment this organization will never forget.
In Game 1, we ran into a hot New Carlisle Yankees offense and dropped the opener 13-3. Despite the loss, the Heat played clean defense without committing an error, and Toby Leach, Jordan Wright, John Trittschuh, and Shane Jackson each recorded a hit.
Instead of folding, this team responded.
Game 2 turned into an offensive explosion as the Heat earned the first victory in franchise history, defeating the Yankees 21-11.
After falling behind 7-2 in the first inning, the Heat refused to quit. We answered with seven runs in the second inning to reclaim the lead, then exploded for eight more runs in the third to take complete control of the game.
The offense was relentless, piling up 21 hits, drawing six walks, and stealing nine bases. Isaac Stephens delivered one of the best individual performances in team history, going 5-for-5 with seven RBIs while stealing four bases. John Trittschuh and Toby Leach added multiple hits, Austin Violet reached base consistently with two walks, and contributions came from throughout the lineup.
Justin Lynch battled through six innings to earn the first win in Heat history.
More important than the numbers was the response. After a difficult first game, this team showed resilience, toughness, and belief in one another. Nobody hung their heads. Nobody quit. They came out swinging and proved exactly what this team is capable of.
The record may not tell the whole story, but history does.
The Darke County Heat have their first win.
It's only one victory, but every successful organization starts somewhere. This is a milestone our players, coaches, families, and supporters will always remember.
Now it's time to build on it.
