Superstition Ridgeline Trail, Phoenix, AZ. 12mi with 5000 feet gain and plenty of scrambling steeps to get the arms tired. Quite possibly one of my favorite trails in AZ. (And that’s saying a lot!)
Sorry to for missing Mesquite Canyon at White Tanks last weekend which is some amazing terrain. Long story but I didn’t read the email about I-10 detour! Frustrating to be all dressed up and miss the dance. But honestly this day turned out perfect.
Sometimes not racing only stokes the fire. Hard to explain to newer runners but there is actually a limited supply of excitement around racing when it comes to peaking for a key race. It’s some combo of curiosity and the unknown that makes races so fun and exciting. But it’s essential to keep some of that for the “big dance” whatever that is in your season. For me, it’s not until August!
