Last night Jake started the weekend off and raced at Central Arizona Raceway. I didn’t race due to my motor needing to be worked on ⚙️ Jake started 2nd in heat 1. The green flag dropped and straight to the front he went, finishing in first. Main event time he started on the pole. After some good back and forth battling between the top 5, he ended up finishing 4th 🏆 The car is in one piece and ready to go for night 2 of the weekend at Adobe Mountain Speedway🏜️ Jake is going to be the awesome husband that he is and let me race his car tonight 🤘🏼 Racing starts at 4:30 🏁

Saturday February 6th was the season opener for the Arizona Mini Late Model Racing Association at Central Arizona Raceway 🏁 Jake and I both took our cars out to shake the dust off of them from the long winter break. There was a stacked field of 17 cars anxiously waiting to hit the dirt! I was supposed to start in Heat 1, third row outside. I hopped into the car to head to staging for my heat and ran into a clutch issue. The guys were able to get the clutch fixed but when I hit the track, I threw the chain ⛓️‍💥 Jake started third row inside of heat 2. He ran a great, solid heat and ended up finishing 4th. For the Main Event, Jake started 8th and I started dead last in 17th 😂 When the green flag dropped I shifted into third and threw my chain again, officially ending my night. The guys do have an idea on what the issue is; a small adjustment needs to be made to the motor. Jake on the other hand had a pretty solid main event with a lot of back and forth racing with the other cars. He ended up finishing the night with a 5th place. Hopefully we have knocked all of the monkeys off of our backs for the season with this one race🙈🤞🏼We will get my car fixed, get both of them washed and ready to go race again in a few weeks! Congratulations to Aiden Bauer on his win 🏆

We are really looking forward to our next race, which is actually a 2 day show; March 6th and 7th. The group will be heading to Imperial Valley Raceway for the first time in El Centro, California! 📆 🏖️

This past weekend Big Chief Motorsports made their way up the mountain for the first time this season to race at Deuce of Clubs Thunder Raceway 🏁 Jake raced Friday and Saturday night and Emily only raced Saturday night, due to work.

▪️Friday night:
Jake started 4th in heat 3, he also happened to finish in the 4th place spot. For the main event he started 12th. There were a few yellows and 1 red due to a small pile up that needed to be cleared. Once the race started going again, he ended driving his way up to a 3rd place finish. Congratulations to Jacob Mabbitt on his win 🏆

▪️Saturday night:
Jake and Emily ended up in the same heat race, heat 1. Emily started on the pole and Jake started 4th. Jake quickly made his way to the front, taking the win. Emily was just happy to get more seat time and ended up in 6th. Main event, Jake started 6th and Emily started 16th. There was a lot of solid back and forth racing during the whole race. Jake ended up with 2nd place and Emily finished 14th. Congratulations to Shane Courtney on his win 🏆

The next race will be in 3 weeks back at Deuce of clubs for another 2 day show, July 12th and 13th 📆

This past weekend Jake and Emily raced at Adobe Mountain Speedway 🏁 Emily started in heat 1, second row outside. Her night was ended quickly after pulling into the infield about a lap and a half in due to the car not running right. We are currently fighting some fuel issues. Jake was in heat 3, starting on the pole. He was running away with the lead until a few laps in when he tapped the wall going into turn 3 causing the chain to pop off the gear. With Emily having fuel issues she didn’t get to run the main event. Jake started 16th in the Main and ended up finishing in 11th. After a small mechanical issue with the car started, that caused him to pull in. We will get both cars fixed up and ready for the next race🔧🧰

We are looking forward to making our way back to Adobe Mountain Speedway on May 10th 📆

A little late at posting, but better late than never 🤪 This past Saturday Jake and Emily raced at Central Arizona Raceway. The car count was the largest it has ever been with 25 cars. There were 3 heats and both ended up starting in heat 1 side by side. Jake started third and Emily started fourth. The heat race was pretty straight forward, green to checkered. Jake finished in 2nd and Emily finished in 7th. Main event time, Jake started on the pole and Emily started in 19th. The first lap and a quarter was pretty eventful for Jake. Going into 1 on the second lap his front axle broke on the driver side causing his car to veer right. That pushed him up into the wall and with a little bit of help, wrong place wrong time, he ended up barrel rolling the car 2 times. For Emily on the other hand, it was a bit of a long race due to the handful of yellows. She ran a solid race and was happy with getting some seat time after being out of the car for a few months. She ended up finishing the night in 20th. The next 2 races are scheduled for April 11th and 12th back at Central. But Jake will be the only one to attend that weekend and only be racing one night, the 11th. Due to prior engagements, Emily will not be racing at all that weekend.

Saturday, February 8th, was our season opener for the S and S Paving and Construction Arizona Mini Late Model Racing Association at Central Arizona Raceway. Unfortunately we only took 1 of our 2 cars with us. Jake’s car currently has a motor issue so Emily was a nice wife and gave up her car. Jake is wanting to run for points this year and we knew we needed to start the year off as best as we could.

Starting off the night, Jake drew a 16 pill number putting him 2nd row inside of heat 1. He ran a smooth heat race and ended up winning it. Winning his heat placed him in the position to do a redraw for his starting spot in the main. His redraw put him starting 5th. There was a lot of great battling back and forth throughout the whole race. Jake finished in 2nd in a 19 car field. Overall it was a good night. March 22nd is our next race. We will be back at Central Arizona Raceway and we will have both cars with us. We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing sponsors:

Weekend race recap for July 26th and 27th:
Both Jake and Emily ran a 2 day show up at Deuce of Clubs Thunder Raceway, in Show Low this past weekend. Friday night Emily started in heat 1, 3rd row inside. That was her very first race in a Mini Late Model and was able to finish with a 3rd place. Jake started in heat 2, 2nd row outside. He also finished in 3rd. When the main event came around, Emily started 2nd row inside and Jake started 4th row outside. The main event was a good solid race with lots of back and forth battling with everyone. Both had a great night, Jake finished 2nd and Emily finished 13th.

Saturday night Jake started in heat 1, outside pole. When the green flag dropped he stepped on the gas and ran away with it, finishing in 1st. Emily started in the same spot, outside pole, but in heat 2. After a few laps holding onto 2nd place, she did end up falling back to 3rd finishing there. For the main event, Jake started on the pole and Emily started in 8th. Was another great race with the entire field. Jake finished in 2nd again and Emily got her first top 10, finishing in 9th.

For this being Emily’s first time ever in a Mini Late Model, she ended the weekend feeling really good with the car and is excited for the next race. Overall it was a very good weekend for the Arizona Mini Late Model Racing Association. There were great battles all over the track throughout the entire field. 17 cars is amazing and only going to continue to grow! We are really looking forward to our next race at Mohave Valley Raceway September 26th.
