📖 August Reads 📖

My top 3 were:

📚 The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett:
I couldn’t put this one down! I stayed up most of the night because I wan invested in the characters and the plot had me hooked.

📚Tamarack County by William Kent Krueger:
Krueger’s Cork O’Connor series has been one of my favorites. This is book 15 out of 21 in the series and it gives such a wonderful outlook of Minnesota and Ojibwe peoples. I will often stay up all night reading his works when my holds become available through the library.

📚 Travels with Charley: In Search of America by John Steinbeck:

I felt transported back in time reading Steinbeck’s biography. It also made me curious how much of America I will end up seeing. One thing I would enjoy doing is a literary tour of the states.

One that didn’t make my top three but I wanted to love was Whistler by Ann Patchett - it left me wanting something more, like the story was not quite finished.

Sunday was a gorgeous day at the Minnesota state fair! We saw the largest traveling ferris wheel in celebration of America’s 250th and I believe it was 75’ taller than the typical ferris wheel that is there. If you went to the fair, did you ride it and would did you think?! 🎡
