Proud of these two. They went and played a practice round to prepare for Regional Golf Finals when the weather was chilly, rainy, and windy. They could have said, “It’s too cold,” “It’s not nice out,” or “I don’t want to get wet,” but they didn’t. They went out, competed, and prepared for an unfamiliar course for the opportunity to continue their senior season against the best girls still standing in 2A.
It may not have ended with the results we had hoped for, but as I reminded them on the way home, there were many golfers whose seasons had already ended a week ago. Be proud of the fact that you got to experience this event, not everyone does, and even fewer get a chance to advance to the next round. Liv and Soph both tied for 11th and finished just six strokes away from qualifying for state. Extremely proud of both of them.
This first season as coach was rewarding, gratifying, and honestly just a lot of fun with this group. I’m glad I was able to share a little of the game I love with them, and I hope they continue playing for years to come.
Go Blue. Go Raiders.
