Thank you Morgan and Annette for your awesome hints about "Nutrition as a Lifestyle". If anyone is interested, the book Annette is reading is called "Your Body in Balance" by Dr. Neal Bernard. There are soooo many different theories out there, but just know all of our bodies are unique and so keep trying to become the healthiest YOU! Morgan, I loved your ideas on nutrition during a run! The salted watermelon is amazing!
This week we are happy to have Charlie Vater be our "chatter". Charlie Vater is a distance athlete from Iola, competing in cross-country, cross-country skiing, and track. He has been running since sixth grade and since that time has been determined to become the fastest boy. Last fall he finished in 11th place at the State competition of cross-country. In the winter, he placed 7th, 9th, and 8th in the skate, classic, and pursuit races at the Wisconsin State Nordic Skiing Championships, and then raced at nationals in Fairbanks, Alaska. This spring he was the track state champion in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. In June, he competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, at Hayward Field, taking fifth in the 5000-meter run, making him an All-American, and fifteenth in the 2-mile run.
Charlie has built good friendships through competition and is often running or skiing with athletes from Stevens Point, Rosholt, Amherst, Waupaca, and the Fox Valley. This summer he is leading running, mobility, and strength workouts with his team and runners from surrounding towns, and he is looking forward to his senior year of running and skiing. One of his goals this summer is to run alone as little as possible. Charlie's talk is "Aim High Enough".
See you all tomorrow! Tuesday, July 18th with lots of new friends and family!!!!!!
