Last weekend, two Yellow City Spark teams loaded up the cars, packed the coolers, checked into hotels, and headed to Southern Nationals chasing something bigger than wins and losses.
What they brought home was something special.
The 2k15s stepped into the toughest bracket they’ve seen yet and never flinched. Through the heat, the long days, and the adversity that comes with playing some of the best teams around, they kept fighting. Pitch after pitch, inning after inning, they showed exactly who they are — gritty, resilient, and unwilling to quit. Their reward was an incredible National Runner-Up finish and the respect of everyone who watched them compete.
The Spark OGs faced a difficult pool and every challenge that came with it, but they stayed together and kept showing up for one another. They competed with heart, trusted each other, and battled their way to a 3rd place finish in the Silver Bracket. The growth and togetherness this group showed all weekend was impossible to miss.
This weekend also brought individual recognition for nine girls who stood out among some of the best competition in the country:

But behind every medal and every trophy is so much more.
It’s parents driving hundreds of miles, booking hotel rooms, eating late dinners after bracket games, and spending weekends in lawn chairs because they believe in their daughters’ dreams.
It’s coaches spending countless hours preparing practices, making lineups, hitting fungos, throwing batting practice, and investing in kids that aren’t their own.
It’s teammates cheering from the fence when their name isn’t the one being called.
It’s little girls learning how to handle pressure, heartbreak, adversity, success, and sacrifice — lessons that will matter long after softball is over.
The trophies will eventually find a shelf.
The MVP medals will eventually find a drawer.
But these memories — the dugout laughs, the tears after tough losses, the celebrations after big wins, the hotel memories, the road trips, and the friendships built along the way — those are forever.
Yellow City Spark was represented with pride this weekend.
Not because of where we finished.
But because of how we competed, how we supported each other, and how we carried ourselves when things got hard.
We’re proud of every single player, coach, and family who wore Spark across their chest this week.
