Strong Hitting Not Enough As Alton Lady Comets Softball Falls To Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats

Even though Alton Lady Comets Softball collected seven hits to Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats's six, they still fell 6-4 on Tuesday at Ellington. Mollie Warren led Alton Lady Comets Softball with three hits.

Alton Lady Comets Softball opened the scoring in the first after Warren singled, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats went back into the lead after Jasmine Reed singled to left field, and Baylie Pinkley grounded out, each scoring one run.

Jessica Green doubled to center field, which helped Alton Lady Comets Softball tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Alton Lady Comets Softball went back into the lead after Emma Trantham doubled to left field, and Warren singled to center field, each scoring one run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats went back into the lead after Kendall Phillips singled to center field, Evelyn Pellet walked, Reed singled, and Pinkley grounded out, each scoring one run.

Warren began the game for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The righty allowed five hits and six runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking 10. Phillips opened the game for Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four.

Warren went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Trantham and Green each collected multiple hits for Alton Lady Comets Softball.

Ariel Harris and Reed each collected two hits for Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats. Pellet, Reed, Phillips, and Pinkley each drove in one run for Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats. Pellet led Bloomfield Varsity Wildcats with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game.

Fourth-Inning Spurt Lead Alton Lady Comets Softball Past Ellington Varsity Whippets

Alton Lady Comets Softball defeated Ellington Varsity Whippets 13-3 on Thursday at Ellington thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. Mollie Warren scored after tagging up, Madison Weyland drew a walk, scoring one run, Emiley Fettig singled, scoring one run, Emma Trantham doubled, scoring one run, Jessica Green singled, scoring one run, Brayleigh Campbell drew a walk, scoring one run, and Emma Cauthen lined out, scoring one run.

Ellington Varsity Whippets opened the scoring in the first after Chitwood singled, scoring two runs.

Ellington Varsity Whippets added one run in the third after Freeman grounded out.

Cauthen led things off in the circle for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The starter allowed five hits and three runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking four. Chitwood led things off in the circle for Ellington Varsity Whippets. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and seven runs (three earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking five.

Alton Lady Comets Softball tallied 12 hits in the game. Trantham, Green, Fettig, Warren, and Sady Williams each collected two hits for Alton Lady Comets Softball. Trantham and Green each drove in two runs for Alton Lady Comets Softball. Campbell paced Alton Lady Comets Softball with three walks. Alton Lady Comets Softball were triumphant over Gainesville 5-2 on Monday.

Alton Lady Comets Softball got on the board in the second inning after Jasey-Rae Hitch doubled, scoring one run.

S Strain walked, which helped Gainesville tie the game at one in the top of the third.

A line out by Emma Cauthen gave Alton Lady Comets Softball the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third.

Mollie Warren started in the circle for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The starter gave up four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking six. L. Anderson led things off in the circle for Gainesville. The hurler surrendered six hits and five runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three.

Cauthen, Brayleigh Campbell, Warren, and Hitch each drove in one run for Alton Lady Comets Softball. Campbell led Alton Lady Comets Softball with two hits in three at bats.

H Warden led Gainesville with one run batted in. Number nine hitter, K Hogan, showed the depth of Gainesville's lineup, by leading them with two hits in two at bats. Warden led Gainesville with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Hogan and Warden each stole multiple bases for Gainesville. Gainesville stole seven bases in the game.

Alton Lady Comets Softball Fall To Van Buren Despite Strong Effort From Sady Williams

Sady Williams collected three hits in four at bats, but Alton Lady Comets Softball lost to Van Buren 13-7 on Wednesday. Williams doubled in the second inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Van Buren got on the board in the top of the first inning after E Lewis tripled down the right field line, and G Gossett grounded out, each scoring one run.

Van Buren added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Lewis singled to left field, Gossett grounded out, and P Sonsoucie flew out, each scoring one run.

Alton Lady Comets Softball tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a single by Williams, a double by Ellie Exum, and a double by Jessica Green.

Van Buren flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead, 13-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by M Warner that drove in two.

Emma Cauthen led things off in the circle for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The hurler surrendered 13 hits and 13 runs (11 earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Lewis opened the game for Van Buren. The starter gave up 11 hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.

Alton Lady Comets Softball Roll Past Couch

Alton Lady Comets Softball easily dispatched Couch on Thursday at Home, 18-3.

Couch opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Alton Lady Comets Softball went back into the lead after Emma Cauthen doubled to center field, Madison Weyland walked, Sady Williams walked, Makanlee Trolinger walked, and Jessica Green singled to right field, each scoring one run.

Alton Lady Comets Softball scored seven runs on one hit in the bottom of the second inning. Weyland drew a walk, scoring one run, Williams drew a walk, scoring one run, Trolinger singled, scoring two runs, and Mollie Warren lined out, scoring two runs.

Alton Lady Comets Softball added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jasey-Rae Hitch walked, and Williams grounded out, each scoring one run.

Cauthen began the game for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The starter allowed two hits and three runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking none. A Fabrizio stepped in the circle first for Couch. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and 12 runs (nine earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking 10.

Trolinger, the number nine hitter for Alton Lady Comets Softball, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Jessica Green collected three hits in five at bats, as Alton Lady Comets Softball defeated Summersville 10-3 on Monday. Green doubled in the second inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Alton Lady Comets Softball scored six runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Brayleigh Campbell doubled, scoring one run, Emiley Fettig grounded out, scoring one run, Madison Weyland singled, scoring one run, Ellie Exum tripled, scoring two runs, and Green singled, scoring one run.

Alton Lady Comets Softball Fall To Doniphan After Surrendering Big Sixth Inning

Doniphan scored six runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Alton Lady Comets Softball 11-0 on Friday.

A single by K Davis put Doniphan on the board in the top of the first.

Doniphan added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Davis grounded out, scoring one run, Amungham singled, scoring one run, and C Hogood singled, scoring two runs.

Doniphan scored six runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. K Taylor singled, scoring two runs, B Monagham singled, scoring one run, Amungham doubled, scoring two runs, and P Klepzig grounded out, scoring one run.

Emma Cauthen started in the circle for Alton Lady Comets Softball. The starting pitcher allowed 15 hits and 11 runs (10 earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking two. M Jackson opened the game for Doniphan. The pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out 10 and walking two.

Jessica Green and Mollie Warren were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Alton Lady Comets Softball. Alton Lady Comets Softball turned one double play in the game.

Doniphan amassed 15 hits in the game. Monagham, Davis, and Taylor each collected three hits for Doniphan. Davis, Amungham, and Taylor each drove in two runs for Doniphan. Amungham, Hogood, and B Boles each stole multiple bases for Doniphan. Doniphan ran wild on the base paths, amassing nine stolen bases for the game. Doniphan were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Klepzig made the most plays with 10.
