💨 LC BOYS SMASH 4x100 RECORD... AGAIN!

​History didn't just repeat itself in Chanute—it got faster. ⚡️

​The Labette County quartet of Nolan Nash, Deontae Fields, Barrett Hestand, and Jamaal Jackson scorched the track at the Thad Clements Invitational, clocking a blistering 42.75.

​Not only did they break the school record for the second consecutive week, but they also shattered the meet record (43.0) that this same core group set just last year! 📉🔥

​Even with a lineup shift—Barrett Hestand stepping in for Kane Nash—the Grizzlies didn't miss a beat. Behind these elite performances, the LC Boys secured the Runner-Up team trophy with a massive 160 points! 🏆🐾

Labette County High School

After a devastating knee injury took the majority of his senior football season, Labette County star sprinter Jamaal Jackson is back under 11 seconds in the 100 meter dash. Just seven months post-op he ran a 10.94 to win in Girard on Friday. Also ran a 51 second split in the 4x400 relay.

Labette County Boys had a record breaking day yesterday at Girard.

Nolan Nash, Deontae Fields, Kane Nash and Jamaal Jackson break the 4x100 school record and also set the meet record at the Girard Invitational with a time of 42.86. This time sits tied for first in 4A. The old mark was set last year at 43.00. Jamaal Jackson also won the 100M dash in a season best 10.94.

Keegan Stritzke breaks the school discus record he broke last season with a throw of 169’6. His previous best last season was 167’11. Keegan also broke the shot put record held by Darrell McClelland of 53’6.5 from 1963 with a new throw of 55’5. Both of these marks sit in 2nd place in 4A.

The Labette County boys finished Runner-Ups at the prestigious Girard Optimist Club Invitational, capping off a huge day.

Huge day at the Girard Invitational for our boys team as we finished 2nd as a team behind Carthage (MO) and broke 3 school records in the process! Proud of the effort and teamwork this group is showing!

Congratulations to Caleb McKee on signing to Kansas State University as a football manager next season!!

Caleb has had a dream since his freshmen year of becoming a manager at the Division 1 level and has worked hard every day to fulfill his dream!

We are so proud of you and can’t say thank you enough for all of your hard work as a football, basketball and track manager the past 4 years! Good luck Caleb!!
