Big news! LA County Parks has received $1,397,676 in Climate Equity Account (CEA) funding to bring four community-focused projects to life — supporting post-fire recovery, creating greener neighborhoods, expanding active transportation, and building a more climate-resilient future for LA County.

Compton Creek Phase III Trail Project — $351,359

Completing a 1.5-mile wellness loop in Willowbrook, connecting new and existing trails along Compton Creek. Part of our Urban Natureways initiative, this project reimagines flood infrastructure as a green corridor with native landscaping, shaded seating, public art, and stormwater features.

Pacoima Beautiful's Electro Bici Program — $61,481

An electric bike library bringing 20 pedal-assist e-bikes to the Northeast San Fernando Valley, plus safety education, maintenance training, and workforce development — expanding clean, affordable transportation access.

Lower LA River Mobility Hub — $284,836

A new gateway to the Lower LA River at 72nd Street, featuring improved trails, native landscaping, civic art, and a multi-purpose River Pavilion — laying the groundwork for a future Lower LA River Nature Center.

Eaton Fire Altadena Trails Restoration — $700,000

Restoring access to the Altadena Crest Trail and Eaton Canyon Natural Area Trails, closed since the 2025 Eaton Fire. This project tackles complex restoration — rebuilding trail segments, stabilizing slopes, and constructing critical infrastructure — while strengthening wildfire and climate resilience for communities across the San Gabriel Mountains.
