I’m going to be real here.
Life has its way of throwing us off balance from time to time. But when something really, really matters, when it is very important, we always find ways to keep these things in the vicinity of our reality.
This is your routine.
If you’re feeling “old”, it’s probably deeper than your actual age.
You’re feeling weak because you aren’t intentionally staying strong.
You’re low on energy because you aren’t moving, fueling your body with premium “fuel”, getting enough rest, and likely dehydrated. In addition, when was the last time you went outside to “play”?
Your joints are locked up because you probably don’t move in the crazy ways you used to sprawl and sit as a kid.
Hips hurt? When was the last time you stretched?
If you’re waiting to be motivated, you’re wasting your time.
Motivation happens. It’s rare, it’s not going to stick around when it does show up, and it may take years to come back around.
Discipline is steady. It’s the grind. It’s how you get it done day after day, even when you do not feel motivated, it’s what keeps you going even on Mondays, bad days, unexpected days and off days.
But routine is what feeds your discipline when even that fails you.
Your routines are habits that you do without thinking. They are what drives you when you don’t have the self motivation to even think.
If you’re tired and there’s already food cooked, a gym bag packed and water in your water bottle, your routine has clearly set you up for success.
I know this all sounds great in theory, but a lot of you don’t even know how to develop these habits, change your routine, and feel too overwhelmed just processing it all.
That’s Okay. Your success is just around the corner!
Send me a quick DM and let’s talk about a strategy to get you on the road to your next best routine, which will help you achieve a disciplined lifestyle where motivation shows up more frequently.
