One thing as an instructor is of course the goal of a full class. However, that isn't the reality. This week was a wonderful reminder of that. It was also a reminder that the right people show up at the right time. Line Dancing has never been about the income for me. It's about a safe place, building people up, and giving people grace to be 100% themselves in a non judgemental environment.
Last night, I had 2 in my first class this year at His Place. While it was a shock, I will tell you the exact 2 that show up was sent meant to be. Brenda has been with me for over a year and a true light in my life but also in classes. She brings such a positive uplifting energy. She's been gone from class for a minute due to some life changes and is slowly making her way back to her standard classes. Having her there last night gave us an opportunity to catch up and share wonderful news together. A moment I have been earning for but timing is everything. She is such a light!
We also had Annie. This sweet young girl that joined my class the night before and wanted to come back for more! She was such a positive light. She was ready to try whatever I put in front of her, with the biggest smile, and true happiness to just be there line dancing! This girl is a pro! Crazy link of life, Annie is in the same class as Brenda's granddaughter. The sweet bond the 3 of us created was the extra special part of the class.
Lastly, I almost had to cancel class cause I wasn't feeling my best. I decided to rally and the lift class gave me was a true message and reminder of being in the right spot at the right time.
