🤡🎈FROM THE NEWEST EPISODE OF THE AFTER HOURS CHATS PODCAST.
Interestingly, this episode was recorded just prior to Tim Curry's passing when we were giving him this shout out for his role as Pennywise in the original IT, a performance that both fascinated and terrified many of us as kids (and Nick even brought out is little Tim Curry as Pennywise figurine which you can see in the video version of this episode).
Rewatching the original IT is something I never tire of as Tim had this amazing ability to fully transform and become his roles.

We love you, Tim and miss you already🎈

In 1973, a small Illinois town became the centre of one of America’s strangest cryptid stories, the Enfield Horror.

The mystery began in Enfield, Illinois, when local resident Henry McDaniel reported hearing scratching at his door late at night.

When he went outside, he claimed he encountered something unlike any animal he recognised.

McDaniel described a bizarre creature with three legs, short arms, reddish eyes and a greyish, hairy body. He reportedly fired at it, believing he had hit it, but the creature escaped in enormous leaps.

Then came more reports.

Other people claimed to hear strange cries or see an unusual creature around the area, attracting journalists and curious outsiders to the tiny town.

The story became so notorious that the mysterious animal was eventually dubbed the Enfield Horror.

No convincing physical evidence was ever recovered, and sceptics have suggested misidentification of wildlife, exaggeration, or panic.

But McDaniel remained adamant about what he saw.

More than 50 years later, the question remains: what was roaming around Enfield in 1973?

A strange animal, an elaborate hoax, or something we still cannot explain?

Have You Heard of the Beast of Bray Road, Wisconsin’s Werewolf-Like Mystery?

For decades, people around Elkhorn, Wisconsin, have reported encountering something strange along the rural roads and fields surrounding Bray Road.

Witnesses have described a large, hairy creature that appears to combine unsettlingly human and wolf-like characteristics. Some claimed it could stand or move on two legs, while others described seeing it crouched beside the road or disappearing into the darkness.

Reports gained wider attention in the early 1990s when journalist Linda Godfrey began investigating local sightings. What initially sounded like an unusual local rumour soon became one of Wisconsin’s best-known cryptid legends.

Theories have ranged from misidentified bears and unusually large wolves to hoaxes and, inevitably, werewolves.

Yet the Beast of Bray Road remains part of Wisconsin folklore, helped by decades of stories from people who insist they encountered something they could not explain.

Have you heard of the Beast of Bray Road, and what do you think people were actually seeing?
