As an owner of a firearm, nothing is more important than safety. The second goal of STSK is to teach people how to live their day-to-day lives safe from crime. We offer course such as The NRA Refuse To Be A Victim class that is not about fi****ms. The NRA Refuse To Be A Victim is a course designed to teach you how to live your life safely from day to day. According to experts on crime, the single

most important step toward ensuring your personal safety is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. All of our courses will explain and enforce that philosophy. We offer courses that range from understanding weaknesses in your daily routines to defending yourself from a criminal attack. You do not need to own a gun for STSK instructors to teach you how to be safe, but if you choose to own one for defense, we have courses on using fi****ms for personal protection. At STSK we believe it is the duty of every gun owner to be taught safe and proper fi****ms handling for these three basic reasons:

#1 People should learn safe gun handling before they purchase a firearm.

#2 People should to understand how the firearm they own functions.

#3 People should know the safe and proper way to fire the gun they own. If you take one of these three elements away, it is not good for anyone. Safety is the most important factor for in owning a firearm. Without proper training, fi****ms ownership could be dangerous and frustrating. A lack of understanding about how fi****ms work will likely lead to concerns about your own safe handling of your firearm. As a result, you will not feel comfortable enough to practice shooting it at a range or be confident enough to use a firearm in a threatening situation.

2019 Intro To Shooting Sports Class!

We are announcing our annual Intro To Shooting Sports
class on April 20th at 10am



Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club is hosting a special STSK Intro to Shooting Sports Class on Saturday April 20th 2019 at 10:00am. The class is only $60.00 instead of the normal $250.00! You will learn about and shoot a stage for up to 6 shooting sports. They will be IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association), Falling Steel, USPSA and Steel Challenge. The match director Dave Snyder will be teaching the Steel Challenge stage. John Harold runs the IDPA program at Ontelaunee and will be teaching IDPA with an IDPA certified RSO (Donna Millan).

Shooting sports will help you practice for personal defense and introduce you to a new aspect of shooting that is very addictive!

The classroom and live fire will be at Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club. This is open to the public.

This class is for anyone who wants to learn and try pistol shooting sports. You may have seen a lot of these shooting sports on the outdoor channel. Most people do not know how many local clubs host shooting sports. Check out the video on the STSK home page.

Requirements: Bring your legally owned handgun with owners manual, at least 3 magazines,( moon clips or speed loaders for revolvers), any accessories you have purchased, at least 150 rounds of ammo, eye and hearing protection. An OWB holster and mag pouches/holsters are recomended but not required for this class.

**A holster is not required to take this class but strongly recommended**

Please wear comfortable clothing and dress for the weather. This class is rain or shine. No open-toed shoes. Minimum age 8 years old. We require a parent or guardian to be with children ages 8 - 17.

STSK Instructors will be offering a Level 2 Basic Pistol shooting class at Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club on Sunday March 3rd at 12:00pm.

**This class is preregistration only. Please reply to this email for questions or to preregister**
This is an indoor course being held at Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club for people who have little experience shooting a handgun or for people who want to learn more advanced techniques. You do not need to be an Ontelaunee member to take this class.
This class is mostly range time. Very little classroom time.

STSK Instructors will review firearm safety, perfecting your shooting technique, transitioning between targets (shooting at multiple targets), trigger reset, presenting our firearm from a holster, indexing magazines for faster reloads while shooting, and much more. The class will end with drills that you can practice at the range in the future. Expect the class to run for about 4 - 5 hours.

This class is revolver friendly.

The price of the class is $100.00 and is limited to 12 seats.
Requirements:
Holster for your firearm OWB (Outside The Waistband) only!
At least 2 magazines
Magazine pouch/holster
Your legally owned handgun and the owners manual.
Eye and hearing protection. No open toed shoes.
At least 150 rounds of ammunition only copper plated or lead rounds. If a magnet sticks to the bullet this ammo is not allowed on the indoor range.
A baseball hat or other hat with a brim or bill on it.
