Today I want to recognize someone who has been giving back to our community for decades—Ali from Melvindale Pharmacy.
While talking with Ali recently about Melvindale Wrestling, he mentioned that he was interested in making another donation to help our student-athletes. As our conversation continued, we started talking about Melvindale Softball and the incredible season they had, including their District Championship and the hard work their coaches have put in to help the program succeed. After hearing about their success, Ali decided he wanted to support the girls’ softball program as well.
Ali has been a huge part of Melvindale for many years. Not only has he sponsored Melvindale Wrestling for over 25 years, but he has also supported countless teams and programs throughout our city. He was also a major contributor to the Officer Mohamed Said Memorial Soccer Ball Statue, helping create something that will honor Officer Said’s legacy for years to come.
Every time I mention Ali’s name to someone, I hear the same thing: “Oh yeah, Ali helped me with this,” or “Ali helped us with that.” His generosity reaches every corner of our community.
Ali truly represents what Melvindale is all about—a small city with a big heart.
Thank you, Ali, for everything you’ve done for Melvindale Wrestling, Melvindale Softball, and the entire Melvindale community. Your support, generosity, and commitment to our city do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful to have you in our corner.
