OWN YOUR LEGACY.

That’s our theme for this year.

Those shirts our student-athletes are wearing aren’t just a nice giveaway. They’re a reminder. A reminder that every day, the decisions we make, how we show up, how we treat people and what we do with the opportunities we’ve been given are all part of the legacy we’re creating.

And as I shared that message with our student-athletes this week, I realized it applies to me just as much as it applies to them.

God has truly blessed me to do what I love! No job is easy or perfect, and there are definitely some challenging days. 😂 But when I look around and realize I’ve been given the opportunity to serve as a Director of Athletics and have an impact on nearly 400 student-athletes, coaches and staff, I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

I continue to be reminded that some of the greatest measures of success are purpose, impact and knowing that the work you do matters.

So, as I challenge our student-athletes to Own Your Legacy, I’m challenging myself to do the same. Every day. In how I lead, how I serve, how I show up for our student-athletes, coaches and staff, and in the impact I hope to continue making at Albany State and throughout college athletics.

I’m grateful for the opportunity God has given me to do work that I love, serve others, have a little fun along the way and live out my purpose.

I’m owning my legacy, too. 💙💛
