🟧 Orangemen Win a Thriller in Overtime at Yost Stadium
The Ellet Orangemen Football Team took on a gritty and determined squad from Canton Central Catholic tonight at Joseph B. Yost Stadium, and the battle on the field matched the intensity in the stands.
The tone was set early in a low‑scoring first half, with Ellet grinding their way to a 7–6 halftime lead over the Crusaders. The Orangemen extended that lead to 14–6 after a short touchdown run by Jordan “Baby J” Robinson, who powered his way into the end zone to give Ellet some breathing room.
CCC answered with a passing touchdown and a successful two‑point conversion, tying the game at 14–14. Moments later, the Crusaders recovered a turnover and drove into field‑goal range. With one second left, their kick was ruled good — a call that briefly crushed the Orangemen’s outstanding effort. But after the officiating crew gathered to discuss the play, the kick was overturned and declared no good, sending the game into overtime.
In OT, Canton Central Catholic struck first, scoring to go up 20–14, though the PAT was no good. Ellet responded immediately. The Orangemen took over at the 20 and marched with purpose, finishing the drive with another tough rushing touchdown from Jordan Robinson, tying the game at 20–20.
Then it all came down to the leg of senior Ayden Bunn.
Snap. Hold. Kick.
All perfect.
The ball sailed through the uprights, sending the Orangemen sideline — and the home crowd — into a frenzy as Ellet secured win number one on the young season.
