We are doing this! Bring your dad to the Swamp Meet. We plan to launch at 10 am June 20th and travel out to Stallings Island to feed the donkeys.
Make it a complete trip and show up while the weather is cool. You can bring a love lock 🔐 for your significant other and explore the area.

You can also stop into the tourist center, get your booklet to begin the Serene18 Paddle Trail and earn your free T-shirt.

As always if you lack the yak there are several rentals that offer this tour or will rent you one on site such as Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental.

Come out and join us for a sunset paddle and fireworks show at Srp park. We will be leaving out from the Augusta Ga 5th St Marina at 7pm.
If you lack a Yak there are several rental companies, Paddle Augusta is on site.
Make sure you bring a white light because it is required by law after dark and always wear your PFD🐥

The best way to see a tour of Augusta in the middle of the city.

We launched from Savannah Rapids Pavilion and put in at the launch. For most of the way we let the gentle current of the Canal do most of the work. The 7.67-mile trip felt much shorter. I was excited to go see all the buildings and bridges. We didn't see any spider lillies. We did see plenty of birds, turtles and one huge snake.

The Augusta Canal, built in 1845, old cotton mills, including King's Mill and the Graniteville Company properties, are reminders of the canal's important role in the textile industry. There are several different bridges, including one that seemed to belong more to the swallows than to people. Its underside was covered with mud nests, and as we paddled beneath, hundreds of birds peeked out and flew around us, it reminded me that I have to see the purple martins too!

We passed the Augusta canal music boats on our way downstream and continued all the way to the end gate.

Our shuttle plan worked out great, with the trailer waiting at the Kroc Center, which has two convenient kayak launches for paddlers exploring this stretch of the canal.
It was a great nature trip and passed out a few PFD 🐥 too

Please be advised that a crew will be clearing vegetation and trimming tree limbs overhanging the driveway at the park all of today and most of tomorrow.

This work is being completed in preparation for the SODA Dragboat Race in July. Temporary delays or minor disruptions may occur during this time.
