Patience and persistence are necessary in the world of drag racing, and Joe Arrowsmith has refined those skills to put his name on the board in the highly competitive Competition Eliminator category. Arrowsmith finished No. 8 in NHRA's Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national standings in 2021 with three wins in three final rounds. ion double-header in Acton, Montana. Over the course of the 2021 season, Arrowsmith claimed an impressive seven low qualifier awards to bring his career total to 13. Racing has always been a family affair for the Arrowsmith clan. The family patriarch, Daryl, was an active competitor in Modified and Comp Eliminator and has been part of the drag racing scene for over 60 years. Ready to step into his own, the younger Arrowsmith licensed in Super Gas with Frank Hawley in 2018 and was in the mid 9-second zone his first time down the dragstrip. Soon after, he got in the family Comp car on a Friday at Brainerd International Raceway, and after two test passes, he was officially the designated driver. His father happily relinquished the seat in favor of tuning their racecar, and the role-swap immediately proved successful. Now a two-time national record holder, Arrowsmith set the F/AA class record at 7.85-second and 172.94 mph in 2021 and the G/AA record at 8.02, 168.75 in 2020, both in the Arrowsmith Racing 2006 Jerry Haas-built Pontiac GTO. Now 35 years of age, Arrowsmith resides in Ham Lake, Minnesota, with partner Ellie and daughters Chloey and Mackenzie. The 2022 season will mark his fourth year as a drag racer in the increasingly tough world of NHRA Competition Eliminator.

Thank you to chase williams for the oil pump belt. We found a crack in ours and without him giving us one we’d never make it to first round.

Mike Mans for the help all weekend over the phone. I appreciated that more than anything!

Danny holt and Loyd Davis for always being our pit neighbors so we can bang our heads against the walls but provide help out as well 🤣
