⚔️ MEET THE COACHES | HEAD COACH LANDON HAMBY ⚔️

Last up in our Valor coaching staff introductions is Coach Landon Hamby, the Head Coach of Valor 10U Softball.

Coach Landon has been around baseball since he was a kid. After serving in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan 🇺🇸, he continued playing competitive men’s slowpitch before eventually finding his way to the other side of the fence.

When his oldest daughter, Quinley, started playing softball, Coach Landon started coaching — and for the past five years, what began as coaching his daughter has grown into a genuine love for developing young athletes and watching them fall in love with the game.

Ask him what his favorite part of coaching is and the answer is easy: the girls. Watching their confidence grow, seeing the excitement after a big hit or big play, and watching all the work they put in finally pay off is what makes it worthwhile.

But what we’re building at Valor has never been about softball alone.

Coach Landon’s philosophy for this team comes down to three things:

✝️ FAITH — Who we are begins with something bigger than softball.
🛡️ CHARACTER — Who you are when nobody is watching matters more than the scoreboard.
💪 EFFORT — Talent may vary, but effort is always a choice.

Away from the field, Landon has been married to his wife, Ansley, for 15 years, and they’re raising two girls, Quinley and Gentry.

At the end of the day, wins are great and trophies are fun — but the goal is bigger. We want these girls to leave Valor as better softball players, better teammates, and stronger young women than when they arrived.

Faith. Character. Effort.

That’s what we’re building.

⚔️ MEET THE COACHES | COACH LANDON BRADY ⚔️

Next up in our Valor coaching staff introductions is Coach Landon Brady, who will lead the development of our Pitchers & Catchers — the Battery!

Coach Landon brings a strong playing background to Valor, having played college baseball at Shorter University and Hiwassee College before making the move into coaching softball, where he has now coached for four years.

For Coach Landon, developing a pitcher or catcher goes far beyond mechanics. He believes composure is essential to growth. Mistakes are going to happen — what matters is how you respond when things don’t go your way.

His goal is to teach our girls that one mistake doesn’t define them. Keep working. Face adversity. Stay composed. And come out on the other side knowing you’re capable of more than you thought you were.

Away from the field, Landon and his wife recently celebrated 11 years of marriage and have two children. Their priorities are simple: Faith, Family & Ministry.

And a few things you need to know about Coach Landon…

🎵 And he strongly believes walk-up songs matter! These days, he’s usually looking for something with a positive message.

We’re excited to have Coach Landon working with our battery and helping our girls learn one of the most important lessons in sports: it’s not the mistake that defines you — it’s how you respond to it.

Valor 10U Softball is proud to officially welcome Cornerstone Demolition, Grading & Roll Off Services as a SENTINEL MISSION PARTNER for the 2026–2027 season!

Our Sentinel Partners play an important role in helping us provide opportunities for our girls to train, travel, compete, and develop while we continue building a program focused on much more than wins and losses.

At Cornerstone, their goal is simple: provide the best possible service to their customers.

Their demolition and grading teams efficiently prepare sites for future development, while their roll-off services provide safe, cost-effective, and environmentally productive waste solutions for contractors, industries, and homeowners alike. ⚔️ MEET THE COACHES | COACH DERICK MULKEY ⚔️

Next up in our Valor coaching staff introductions is Coach Derick Mulkey, who will lead our Outfield Development, with an emphasis on discipline and a true love of the game.

Coach Derick brings more than 20 years of coaching experience across multiple sports and knows what it means to compete at a high level, having played college baseball himself.

He also spent six years serving our country in the military, including a tour in Afghanistan 🇺🇸 — experience that helped shape the discipline, toughness and leadership he brings to our girls today.

Coach Derick is highly competitive and believes in challenging players to work hard, get outside their comfort zones, embrace challenges and play with confidence. The goal is simple: never settle and always strive to be better.

Away from the field, Derick is a husband and proud dad to Gage and Zeplyn, and says his family is his greatest motivation.
