πThe Most Remarkable Class of 2025-26 at Abingdon!π
Some teams dream of winning a state championship.
Some schools celebrate one state title as a once-in-a-generation achievement.
The Abingdon Falconsβ female student-athletes did something far rarer.
They won three.
During the 2025-26 school year, Abingdonβs Volleyball, Girls Basketball, and Softball programs all captured VHSL Class 3 State Championships, cementing one of the most remarkable years in Virginia high school sports history.
The accomplishments speak for themselves:
π Volleyball State Champions
β’ Finished 29-3 overall
β’ Mountain 7 District Champions
β’ Class 3 State Champions
π Girls Basketball State Champions
β’ Finished 22-8 overall
β’ Won six straight games entering the postseason run
β’ Captured the Class 3 State Championship
π₯ Softball State Champions

β’ Mountain 7 District Champions

But what makes this achievement even more special is that many of these athletes didnβt just contribute to one championship team.
Several members of this senior class helped build a culture of excellence across multiple sports, spending nearly the entire school year competing, leading, and winning. Names like Maddie Fields, Maggie Crabtree, Makenzie Fullen, Annsley Trivette, Lauren Baker, Dera Loudy, Scottlyn Bales, and Scout Summitt were familiar sights throughout the year as Abingdon continued stacking championships.
Whether it was on the volleyball court in the fall, the basketball floor in the winter, or the softball diamond in the spring, Falcon athletes consistently answered the call.
Behind the championships was a commitment to year-round dedication, countless hours of practice, and a standard of excellence established by coaches, families, and teammates who refused to settle for anything less than their best.
