โฃ๏ธโฆ๏ธJust a little recap of Saturday at the WildCard Barrel Race!โฅ๏ธโ ๏ธ
Starting the day off strong in Round 1 of the $25,000 Added Futurity, Scamper Hill & Champagne Goodbyes went to the lead with a 15.141! The team ended up winning second in the round after Molli Montgomery & her standout futurity horse, Heavens Gone Wild, ran a 14.969 the first runner out in the Slot Race! Molliโs time carried back to the futurity, catching the win for $2,909 & another $2,428 in the open.
Scamper still took home a $2,407 check from the futurity plus they won the last hole in the open 1D for $571. ๐ต
The 2D champ ended up being Josh Seeger on Jesses MoneyMaker with a 15.729! He cashed in for $970.
Moving on to Round 1 of the $10,000 Added Derby, Dena Kirkpatrick & First Down Goodbye (pictured below) showed up & showed out with a 14.832! Winning the round & earning $1,935.
In the 2D, Daniella Salyer & Goldies Last Design 15.636 won $645!
Now to the really fun part!๐
The thunder rolled in around 6pm, it was wild in & out of the arena! The WildCard Slot Race had 31 entries total and paid out $46,500!
Boy, was it one to watch.๐ฎโ๐จ
Starting us off was Molli Montgomery & Heavens Gone Wild, setting a FAST pace with their 14.969. This held for 3rd place & $5,580.
Draw number 15, bottom of the ground, might I add, Skylar Eisinger & her horse Utah Vardell shook things up with a 14.936! Skylarโs time was good enough to finish second & cash in for $8,370!
Then, Tiany Schuster said hold up, it ainโt over till itโs over. The very last run in the Slot Race, Tiany & the freak athlete, Chalk Cliffs, blew the doors off, putting a 14.881 on the board! Can you say fast?! The team earned the title of WildCard Slot Race Champions, won $11,160 & an insanely cool custom Les Paul guitar. Tiany & Chalk Cliffs also won the Open Race 1 for another $3,428 & a Tres Rios buckle.๐ช๐ผ
Now ya wanna hear cool little story? Earlier in the day the cutest little cowgirl around came up to the office to admire those neat guitars. She envisioned herself being in the winners circle holding that guitar. She humbly believed in herself & that little horse of hers! Well, guess what? That little girlโs name is Kinsley Petty & she turned that dream into reality, becoming the WildCard Slot Race 2D Champion! Kinsley & her horse Chester C Star clocked an impressive 15.381, locking in that Les Paul guitar & $7,440! Adding to her excitement, she also won the 2D in Open Race 1 winning an additional $2,805 & a gorgeous buckle!โจ
To finish up the Open Race 1, Kelby Lyn Griffin & Bug On A Ritz ran a 15.886 to win the 3D, cashing in for $2,077. 4D Champions, Paula Stamps & her horse Jake ran a 16.389 for $1,350. & Last but not least Josie McMurtrey & Hazel clocked a 16.888 to win $727 for th 5D win. These ladies also got to take a buckle home!๐
It was a long, action packed day. The crew members on our staff all did absolutely amazing & with the best attitudes. From the arena floor, to the office & merch, to the announcers stand, we couldnโt ask for a better group. If you see any of them on Sunday, let them know you appreciate them too.
