Team Kili Vijana participated in the 13th edition Nyerere Hockey Tournament held at the Sikh Union Moshi.
The team of young boys gave an excellent performance with the highest level of discipline.
Team KV drew 2-2 to Team Twende in their first group match.
Another draw 0-0 came against Tanga stars under lights.
And our last group game against Black Mambas which was well fought also went for an unfortunate draw 0-0.
We could not continue to the knock out stage this year with earning a point less. But we held our heads high in concluding this edition of the tournament.
Nonetheless Another great exposure for the boys.

Team Kili Vijana participated in the 12th Nyerere Hockey Tournament held at the Sikh Union Moshi. The team of young boys gave an excellent performance with the highest level of discipline. Team KV drew 2-2 to Team Zanzibar and won 1-0 to Arusha Twigas leading the group with 4 points. They continued on to the semi finals and faced TPDF losing 3-2 nonetheless battled to the last minute. Another great exposure for the boys.
Team KV looks forward for the Uhuru Cup in December while continuing to train harder. Ya Mungu, Mengi!

The event of the Nyerere Cup tournament has arrived in Moshi once again, and Kili Vijana have taken up the challenge. 10 a.m. on Friday saw them begin with Team Zanzibar with a tough game, yet it ended in a draw 2-2. The next one, against Arusha Twigas was at 4:30 pm and, by then our boys were already warmed up well to the grounds & gave their opponents a run for their money by winning 1-0.
The team is now on standby for the Semis which shall be played at 3pm Vs TPDF.

KILI VIJANA 2 - 2 Zanzibar Nyuki
Tanga stars 1 - 1 Moshi Khalsa.
Kili VIJANA 1 - 0 Arusha Twigas

SO FAR ONLY 2 TEAMS (KILI VIJANA & MOSHI KHALSA) HAVE QUALIFED FOR THE SLOTS OF SEMI FINALS. OTHER 2 SEMI FINALIST WOULD BE KNOWN TOMORROW MORNING.

12TH EDITION OF NYERERE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

THIS PRESTIGIOUS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT IS SCHEDULED TO BE HELD FROM 13TH - 15TH OCTOBER IN MOSHI.

THE SAID EVENT IS BEING ORGANIZED BY SIKH UNION CLUB OF MOSHI IN CONJUNCTION WITH TANZANIA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

THIS TOURNAMENT IS KINDLY SPONSORED BY SIKH COMMUNITY OF MOSHI.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS FROM MOSHI, TANGA ZANZIBAR, ARUSHA AND DAR ES SALAAM SHALL BE CONTESTING FOR THE TITLE.

Hockey Fever grips Arusha starting from 5:00pm today, 7th of December 2022 at the Uhuru Hockey Cup.
KILI VIJANA will be facing TPDF on Friday, 9th December at 7:30am, and will need all the support from its fans, so we are looking forward to see you there to cheer us up!! 🕉🙏

After the unfortunate loss to Arusha Twigas in the Penalty strokes, Kilivijana were slated to face Moshi Khalsa at 5:00p.m. But in the meantime, Arusha Twigas played Black Mambaz, losing to them 2-1.
The second semi-final match between Kilivijana & Moshi Khalsas at 5:00 p.m. was indeed a tough arrangement – both teams of Moshi facing each other as rivals. Although the play was a very trying one, it was truly competitive, with both sides attacking each other’s goalposts at frequent intervals. The eventual result, ending in Moshi Khalsas' favour, was 1-0, but a statement had been made by Kilivijana to everyone present – the team had achieved a reputation as warriors who had fought valiantly throughout the entire game, and had ceded the single goal to Khalsas only much later into the game.
All in all, an interesting 11th Edition of Nyerere Hockey tournament it has been, with great games played, but still a lot to learn in the field for sure.

We thank all the spectators presence who made their time out to cheer us up during the tournament and it surely encouraged us to fight harder.

In it's very first match, against Tanga Stars, KiliVijana began with an "instant" goal by Khushil Vaja Khushil Rajesh in the very first minutes into the game.
The play was good & competitive, but with a goal each by John, and the Captain Chirag Vaja, which ended with a total score of 3-0, in favor of KiliVijana.
High praise for Tanga stars who displayed a good diciplined game.

Our second game started at 4:30pm against the Arusha Twiga's and the visitors scored us the first goal which was then equalised bravely in the second Quarter from the stick of John.
Hence the game ended into a draw of 1-1 whereby each team earned a point to their points tally.

Our next important game is tomorrow against the TPDF at 9.00am
