Held every quadrennial (four years), the African Games are a continental arena bringing together the best sporting talent the continent has to offer at one multi-disciplinary event.
The Games have become a platform that fosters solidarity and enhances the overall competitiveness of sports in Africa, improving the quality of sports and participating athletes.
The Games are intentionally held a year before the Olympic Games so that they may serve as a qualifying event, offering a direct pathway for athletes and teams to qualify for the Olympics and other international sports competitions.
The vibrancy of the African Games goes beyond showcasing individuals and teams.. to promoting unity, cultural and knowledge exchange and ultimately, ensuring the development of sports in Africa.
