Art is an excellent way to educate children! There are direct links between visual and linguistic associations that have been shown to enhance learning. Making art enables a cognitive process which allows the student to understand nuance both in language and visual conceptualization. I love teaching art to kids because it allows them to be autonomous in the creation of their work. This gives them a sense of accomplishment and the ability to reflect in a critical manner.
