Capoeira Camará T&T - POS Afrikan-Brazilian Martial Arts Capoeira Camará T&T is the premiere Afrikan Brazilian Martial Arts Academy in Trinidad and Tobago since 1998. Viva Capoeira!

With over twenty (20) teaching years of experience, we are led locally by Inst. Azulão Manganga and Mestre (Master) Bola internationally. Capoeira is an African-Brazilian martial art which was developed over 400 years ago in Brazil by enslaved Africans in order for them to escape captivity. Disguising the art in the form of a dance and combining it with music, they were able to train and hone thei

r skills so they can escape. The art focuses on agility, strength, flexibility and body control. Students are taught to use evasive maneuvers as their primary defence as opposed to blocks as well as how to generate momentum and power when transitioning from defence to attack. Mussum
As a student of capoeira for 6 years under the supervision of Inst. Azulão and Camará T&T, I can say that the decision that I’ve made to study and train capoeira was worthwhile! Capoeira has brought me on a journey of self-discipline and self-realization and is one of the best decisions that i have made in my life. In addition to being taught by Inst. Azulão, I have also received instruction from Mestre Bola who has visited Trinidad on four occasions and other well established mestres from other schools while training in Brazil, the home of capoeira. Capoeira has brought more excitement and fulfillment to my life than I could have ever imagined and the experiences and relationships that were built could never be replaced.
