5 years. 3 studio moves. So many lessons. 🤍

This month marks 5 years since I opened my fitness studio, and I’ve been reflecting on just how much has changed - not only in the business, but in me.

What started as a leap of faith has taken me through three different spaces, different clients, beautiful connections, unexpected challenges, and plenty of moments where I questioned what I was doing.

Running your own business is rarely as simple as it looks from the outside. There are the exciting seasons where you feel like everything is coming together, and there are the quieter, harder seasons filled with uncertainty, financial pressure, starting over and wondering if you’re on the right path.

Being a coach has taught me so much about people, patience and progress. But being a business owner has taught me just as much about myself - resilience, adaptability, boundaries, confidence and learning to keep going even when things don’t look the way I imagined.

I’ve learned that growth isn’t always linear, and success doesn’t always look like bigger numbers or bigger spaces. Sometimes growth is simply becoming more grounded, more intentional and more comfortable with evolving.

Five years later. Still learning. Still building. Still figuring it out. 🤍

And I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of the journey so far.

Here’s to 5 years 💕 and to whatever this next chapter brings. 🙏

Let’s talk about surrender…

I think sometimes we misunderstand what it means to surrender.

For me, lately, it has been less about giving up and more about recognizing when I’ve been trying too hard to control things that were never entirely mine to control.

Learning that pushing harder doesn’t always create better results.

That I can do everything within my control and still not control the outcome.

That I cannot force people to understand me, show up differently, or give me the relationship I wish we had.

And in life generally, I’m learning that sometimes the next step isn’t another strategy, another plan, or another attempt to make everything work.

Sometimes it’s to pause. To breathe. To trust.

To let things unfold without constantly trying to force them into the shape I think they should take.

Surrender doesn’t mean lowering my standards, abandoning my desires, or becoming passive.

I can still work hard. I can still advocate for myself. I can still pursue what I want. I can still have hope.

But I’m learning there is a difference between doing my part and trying to control the whole story.

Maybe surrender is trusting God with the parts I cannot carry.

And perhaps there is a kind of peace that comes when we stop asking,

“What else can I do?” and start asking, “What can I release?” 🩷🪽

I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to get caught up in constantly trying to be “better.”

Better body. Better habits. Better business. Better mindset. More disciplined. More productive. More healed. More successful.

And there’s nothing wrong with wanting those things. I actually think growth is a beautiful part of life. But sometimes I wonder when self-improvement stops being about growth and starts becoming a quiet belief that who we are right now isn’t enough.

That we’ll finally feel good about ourselves when we lose the weight, reach the goal, make more money, become more disciplined, heal the parts of ourselves we don’t like, or finally become that version we’ve imagined.

But what if there is no version of you that is inherently more worthy than the one sitting here right now?

You can want more for yourself without believing you are lacking.

You can work on yourself and still accept yourself.

You can have goals and still rest.

You can evolve without constantly feeling like you need to be fixed.

Because the next version of you might be stronger, wiser or more experienced 🩷 but she isn’t more deserving of love, peace or happiness than you are today.

Maybe the goal isn’t to become someone worthy. Maybe it’s to realize you already are, while continuing to grow. 🌱🙏
