He is perhaps one of the more popular and liked persons on our team, the man who gets the roast corn done, has the fire going and kettle hotting to make tea, provides an extra hand where necessary, makes jokes to get nervous clients over logs or through deep waters, gets the conversations going and he's always ready to come out and hike.
He spends most of his time in the back of the line with our older hikers, simply because....he brings that bit of calm and reassurance that everything will be ok.
And for those of you who know my weekly battle to tie down those life jackets on the van...he steps in to work his magic getting them fixed and secured.
