The name is believed to be provided by the Turkish in medieval times.
Historical documents suggest that, during the Ottoman Empire period, the Black Sea was called names such as Bahr-e Siyah or Karadeniz, which means “the Black Sea” in Ottoman Turkish.

Yelkouan Shearwater (Puffinus yelkouan) is a seabird species that nests in the Mediterranean Sea and winters in the Black Sea. Many pass through the Bosphorus Strait and the northern Aegean Sea in early spring. They follow the reverse route in late autumn to the wintering grounds in the Black Sea. The Gray Wolf. Its scientific name is Quercus cerris (Canis lupus).

Their average life span in the wild is 6 to 8 years; their size (head and body) ranges from 91 to 160c m; tail is 33 to 50 cm; and they weigh between 18 and 80 KG. The gray wolves work together to hunt, raise their young, and protect their territory.
