We were sent this story about Mantachie senior Brayden Frazier who says, despite finishing all of his classes earlier this month and graduating, would not be allowed to walk or be recognized at graduation due to being late for the bus leaving to go to graduation practice, despite his mother driving him to practice. This decision was handed down by Mantachie Principal Millie Wood.
Instead he sat in the stands with the rest of the people there to see his class graduate, waited until the end, stood when his classmates did, moved his tassel with them, threw his hat in the air with them and celebrated his own way, even though his name was never callled.
Frazier posted the following to his social media. Coach Tig referenced in the post is Mantachie coach and assistant principal John Tigner.
“Let me get on this topic that I’m seeing my name trending about. Millie went at that wrong that we understand. Millie should not have the authority over anyone in Mantachie anymore, that we all agree on. Millie made my life a living hell my six years of high school and jr high . But this man I’m hugging is the reason I stayed. This man is the reason I finished. From day after day of me in literal tears begging him to let me just drop out, he knew me better. This man has confidence in every student and treats them all like his children. with his kindness and respect he shows to everyone. He knew I had it in me to fight for my diploma, he knew there was more in me than what I saw in myself. Coach Tig, I greatly appreciate all you have done for me. Although I may have lost my attitude on you a few more times than I’d like to admit. You took it and knew I just needed to vent sometimes. I will forever be in your favor. Thank you for everything tig❤️
