Our newest class of nursing students got their first practical clinical experience at a village near the school. Some babies were there just for a well baby check up, but two little ones presented with measles. There is an active vaccination campaign in the area, but these babies missed the opportunity. Adults who came complained of pain due to heavy physical labor. A second clinic will be held this week in another location. Special thanks to Dr. Dwain Illman for leading the clinic.

This young lady teaches at a very small Bible School on the Indian border. There is no cell phone coverage, no internet, and the roads are only paths through the mountains. Still, young people eager to learn more about Jesus come. In the summer she leads youth camps. She is taking the nursing class so she can incorporate this life saving information into a new health and hygiene curriculum she is developing for the school. The children who come to her Bible camp are so poor -- usually having only the clothese they are wearing, and they wear them all week. Even in this difficult setting, she will teach children the importance of personal cleanliness to prevent disease -- even if that means they get up early and wash the one set of clothing they have. Sponsorship of Kaw Seng Taung fot her training is $300.

We are gearing up for the next class of nursing students -- we expect the majority of these students will be from Nagaland. Seasonal outbreaks of a deadly flu has reached the point that trained health care workers need to be in the villages.

A DIVINE APPOINTMENT, AN ANSWERED PRAYER In 2015, ACM sent experienced OB nurse Linda Pettit to Myanmar.
