Notice how bendy my toe is? This is a brilliant exercise to strengthen your toes and feet. My grandmother will go for a foot surgery next week due to her deteriorating untreated "flat feet". The joints connecting her skeletal system in her left foot have degenerated as she ages. We brought her to consult a few doctors, and realized that "flat feet" is not actually incurable. But instead, it's due to how she has neglected proper exercises that has led to the degeneration of her skeletal and muscle system. Only since early this year was she willing to take some yoga lessons with me. Ofcourse, alot of the asanas have to be modified with the help of a strap, blocks, a wall, a chair or even me standing there to support her balance - she can't even bend her toes or do tip toe as all the nerve strength that is required to lift her heels are "dead". Now she's all in for yoga, but she'll have to wait for another 4-5 months of recovery post-surgery to be able to practice yoga again.
Lesson: don't wait till it's too late to start taking care of your health and well-being, or you'll eventually learn the hard lesson that health is indeed the most expensive asset in life. 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹
Sequence 👣
Simply begin at downward facing dog position, lift one leg up to one legged dog, then bring that leg forward to knee-to-chest position. While doing the knee-to-chest pose, make sure to lift your other grounded foot up, lifting the heel off the ground.
