A landmark day for EPBAWA and the growth of armwrestling in Eswatini🇸🇿

Today, we celebrated several exciting milestones that mark another step forward in our journey to build champions and strengthen the sport.
Among the highlights was the unveiling of E100,000 worth of armwrestling training and competition equipment, a significant investment that will help our athletes train harder, compete better, and reach greater heights.

We also proudly unveiled the new EPBAWA Office and Training Space at Flaks Complex, a dedicated home for administration, training, and the continued development of our athletes and officials.

Another special moment was the introduction of Mazwi Maxwell Dlamini as our new Administrative and Development Officer, who joins us as we continue to expand opportunities and strengthen our structures.

The day also provided an opportunity to recognize our trained Armwrestling Technical Officers and reflect on our experiences and achievements at the 15th African Games held in Ghana

This is more than just growth—it's a statement of intent. EPBAWA remains committed to creating opportunities, developing talent, and taking Eswatini armwrestling to new heights.
The future is bright, and we're just getting started!

The Eswatini Professional Boxing and Arm Wrestling Association (EPBAWA) is proud to announce a significant step forward in the development of arm wrestling in the Kingdom.
A four-member delegation, led by President Zakhele Zulu, is currently in Ghana for the 2026 African Armwrestling Championships. The delegation also includes Secretary General Nondumiso Masuku, alongside coaches Samuel Tsambokhulu and Thembisa Zulu.
The team is currently taking part in the Coaches Training Programme and will also participate in referees’ training, as well as the Electoral Congress scheduled for 30 April 2026.
Speaking on the development, President Zulu emphasized that this initiative aligns with EPBAWA’s strategic vision to build capacity and develop skilled technicians, laying a strong foundation for the growth of the sport in Eswatini.

EPBAWA Unveils DRC Professional Boxers

The Eswatini Professional Boxing and Arm Wrestling Association (EPBAWA) today officially unveiled professional boxers from the Democratic Republic of Congo during a media briefing held at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA).

The unveiled athletes, Franck Kazadi Ilungu and Nkama Kakenza Samson, both boast impressive boxing credentials. Franck is a seven-time Congo National Champion and a two-time African Champion, while Nkama Kakenza Samson is a three-time Amateur Congo Champion and a one-time Angola Champion.

Speaking during the unveiling, the two boxers expressed gratitude to EPBAWA for the opportunity to showcase their skills. They also pledged to work hard and make Eswatini proud when competing both locally and internationally.
During the announcement, EPBAWA President Mr Zakhele Zulu also unveiled local boxers Sanele “Dan Jr” Maseko, a semi-professional boxer, and Sifiso Ngwenya, a respected 40-year-old veteran boxer. Both local athletes were unveiled in absentia.

Sanele Maseko holds an amateur record of four wins, one loss and two draws, while veteran boxer Sifiso Ngwenya boasts an accomplished career which includes winning a silver medal at the Zone 6 Games held in Mozambique. Ngwenya has also featured in international tournaments in North Korea, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia and Angola, demonstrating his vast experience in the sport.

In his remarks, the President emphasized that EPBAWA remains open to collaboration with gyms, clubs, promoters, sponsors and corporate partners who are interested in contributing to the growth and development of professional boxing and arm wrestling in Eswatini.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by members of the media, EPBAWA Executive Committee members and local boxers who expressed excitement about the association’s vision and upcoming initiatives.

EPBAWA is currently preparing to host its first professional boxing tournament within the next two to three months, marking a significant milestone in the association’s efforts to elevate professional combat sports in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

EPBAWA Strengthens Regional Ties with South Africa Armwrestling Federation 🇸🇿 🤝 🇿🇦

The Eswatini Professional Boxing and Arm Wrestling Association (EPBAWA) today held a successful strategic engagement with the South Africa Armwrestling Federation (SAAF) in Nelspruit.

The meeting brought together SAAF President Madam Yorinda Nel, Secretary General Etiene Beaurain and Athletes Commission Representative Hanco Nel, alongside EPBAWA President Zakhele Zulu, and the Deputy Secretary General, Thembisa Zulu.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the development of armwrestling at national and Southern African regional levels. A key outcome was a planned three-day training workshop in Eswatini for officials and athletes, which will culminate in the signing of a Joint Memorandum of Understanding.Dates for the workshop will be communicated to the public in due course.

The engagement marks a significant step in EPBAWA’s commitment to structured growth, capacity building and regional collaboration.
