Three Judges Reportedly Meet Kiir Over Machar Trial Recording Request

South Sudan gender expert Ter Manyang Gatwech claims that three judges from Dr. Riek Machar’s court reportedly met secretly with President Salva Kiir Mayardit yesterday to discuss Machar’s request for the court proceedings to be audio- and video-recorded.

Meanwhile, Ter Manyang also claims that President Kiir does not want to attend the scheduled African Union meeting on August 26, 2026, in Addis Ababa.

Dr. Riek Machar’s trial is expected to resume tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, with the court expected to rule on the defence application concerning the recording of Machar’s testimony.

The claims have not been independently verified.

Humanitarian Convoy Attacked In Mundri East: AID Lorry Set Ablaze

An aid lorry was set on fire Friday morning after an attack on a road in Mundri East County, Commissioner Matthew Daite told Amadi TV.

The incident occurred between Buagyi Boma and Doroh Boma in Lozoh Payam. The convoy of two lorries was carrying humanitarian supplies meant for a county in Western Equatoria State.

According to the commissioner, one lorry was burned while the other managed to escape and reached the SSPDF barracks in Doroh safely. The owner of the supplies has not yet been identified, and authorities are still gathering information.

No casualties were reported.
Mr. Daite condemned the attack and urged those behind it to stop targeting road users and choose peace instead.
