Aweil Musician Union Condemns Song by Pioth Peace Over Dispute with Thiik Thiik

The Aweil Musician Union has condemned a recent song released by singer Pioth Peace, saying it goes against the union’s music code and community values.

The statement was issued by Aweil Musician Coordinator, singer Wal Wal, popularly known as King Dinka Flow. He criticized Pioth Peace for allegedly dissing Hon. Thiik Thiik Machar in his latest song.

In a message shared with the media, Wal Wal said musicians should avoid releasing songs during times of misunderstanding or conflict.

“According to our music code and shared standards, musicians should not compose or release songs when there is an unresolved misunderstanding with others. Such actions can harm public harmony and put the safety and unity of our community at risk,” Wal Wal said.

He added that artists must avoid creating content that could cause division or appear to encourage conflict, especially during sensitive times.

“As representatives of Aweilian musicians, we do not support any behavior that disrupts social cohesion or threatens the safety of artists and citizens. If there is any dispute, the right step is to seek resolution and offer a sincere apology to those affected,” he stated.

On behalf of the union, Wal Wal also extended an apology to Hon. Thiik Thiik Machar over the matter. He expressed regret that the issue spread on social media before being addressed officially.

“We apologize to Hon. Thiik Thiik Machar. We are all talented, but we may have different views and approaches. It is unfortunate that this matter reached social media before we handled it through the proper channels,” Wal Wal said.

The union has called on Pioth Peace to reflect on the concerns raised, consider offering a formal apology, and work towards restoring unity within the music community.

Wal Wal concluded by saying the union remains open for dialogue and reconciliation to promote artistic integrity, mutual respect, and social responsibility among musicians in Aweil.
