Yambio Football Coaches to Hold General Assembly

Football coaches in Yambio County are set to hold a General Assembly on Saturday, August 29, to discuss the development of the sport and coaching activities in the county.

The meeting will take place at the Yambio Football Association Hall at 8 a.m.

According to the Coaches Committee of the Yambio Football Association, the assembly will discuss coaching, team management, discipline, upcoming competitions, and other issues affecting football in Yambio.

The meeting will also include the election of a new board for the Coaches Committee.

The committee has urged all registered coaches to attend the assembly and participate in the discussions and election.

What a dramatic finish at Freedom Square!
Freedom Boys FC and Naagori Star FC played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in normal time, forcing the final preliminary-round tie into a penalty shootout.

Naagori Star FC kept their composure from the spot, winning 4 - 2 on penalties to book their place in the Round of 32 of the Yambio Football Association South Sudan Cup 2026/2027.

Newly formed 22 Brothers made an impressive start to their South Sudan Cup campaign, securing a convincing 3–0 victory over Golden Star in the Third Division Preliminary Round.

The result gives 22 Brothers a strong start as they continue their campaign in the competition.

𝗬𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗢, 𝗪𝗘𝗦 — 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲:The Yambio Football Association has cancelled the second edition of the Yambio Super Cup between Al Wehida Football Club and Villa United Football Club due to a funding shortfall.

The decision was announced by Justin Roto, Deputy President of the Yambio Football Association, and Olal Joseph Onorio, Secretary-General, in a statement issued on August 18.

The Yambio Super Cup was introduced as a competition between the South Sudan national league champion and the Yambio local league champion. The inaugural edition was successfully sponsored by TK Sports.

However, TK Sports informed the Yambio Football Association that it would not be able to sponsor this year's Super Cup due to financial constraints.

The Association said it made efforts to secure alternative funding but was unable to raise the resources required to hold the competition within the available time.

The Association clarified that the cancellation was solely due to the funding situation and thanked TK Sports for its continued partnership and support.

TK Sports remains the main sponsor of the 2026/2027 TK Sports League, for which the Association is currently seeking sponsorship.

The Association apologized to football fans, particularly supporters of Al Wehida and Villa United, and thanked them for their understanding and continued support.

The Yambio Football Association wished all teams a successful and exciting 2026/2027 football season.

Masia Park 2 Beat Gangara Emilia 5–3 in Boda Boda Friendly Match

YAMBIO — Masia Park 2 defeated Gangara Emilia Boda Boda Park 5–3 in a friendly football match played on Sunday in Yambio.

The match was played for the full 90 minutes, with both teams showing determination and good sportsmanship. Masia Park 2, however, proved stronger and secured the victory.

The team’s performance was also praised as a result of a strong squad selection by Mr. Mason Jr., the coach of Masia Park 2.

The friendly match brought together Boda Boda riders from the two parks and promoted friendship, unity and sportsmanship through football.

Yambio Football Chief Meets Bor Counterpart to Strengthen Local Football

The President of the Yambio Football Association (YFA), Joseph Ndende Ndepi, has met with David Kuol, President of the Bor Football Association, and members of his team during a visit to Bor.

The two football leaders exchanged ideas and experiences on best practices for strengthening local football structures and developing the sport.

Ndepi described the engagement as a valuable opportunity for shared learning, collaboration and a common commitment to growing football in South Sudan.

Yambio Football Association Opens Coaches' Registration for 2026/2027 Season

YAMBIO, 2 August 2026 – The Yambio Football Association (YFA) has opened the registration of football coaches for the 2026/2027 season.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the YFA Coaches Committee said the registration exercise will run from 2 August to 16 August 2026.

The committee urged all coaches wishing to work under the association to register before the deadline.

The registration fee has been set at 20,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP).

Interested applicants can obtain further information and register by calling +211 922 806 282, +211 922 886 792, or +211 922 294 404.

The registration is part of the association's preparations for the upcoming football season in Yambio County.

AL WEHIDA FC WOMEN SIGN FIVE PLAYERS AHEAD OF WOMEN'S LEAGUE

Al Wehida FC Women have strengthened their squad by signing five players ahead of the 2026 Yambio Football Association Women's League.

The new signings are Catherine (Tambura County), Eva James from(Maridi), Joy Ngbanrago, Rania John, and Victoria Adia.

Catherine and Eva James signed three-year contracts, while Joy Ngbanrago renewed her contract for another three years.

The club says the new arrivals are part of its preparations to build a strong team for the upcoming women's league competition.
