1. Rodri ruled out for upcoming fixture
Midfielder Rodri will miss the club’s next Premier League match against Everton F.C. due to a hamstring issue. He limped off in a previous match and later withdrew from Spain’s international squad.
With Rodri absent, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the club will use other midfield options and monitor his return.
2. John Stones’ future under review
Centre-back John Stones — whose contract runs until next summer — has had his future at the club tied to his fitness. The club are delaying decision on a renewal due to his recent injury record (e.g., hamstring issues, limited appearances).
Guardiola emphasised that while Stones’ quality is undoubted, what matters is consistent availability.
3. Grealish could return to City after loan
Jack Grealish, currently on loan at Everton, has been performing well — and Guardiola has publicly left the door open for his return to Manchester City.
However, he is ineligible to face his parent club next match, and City’s midfield dynamics remain under discussion.
4. Match preview — City vs Everton
Ahead of their Premier League meeting, Manchester City sit three points behind current leaders, and this match presents an opportunity to climb the table.
Key factors:
• Rodri out.
• Grealish (at Everton) ineligible vs City.
• City will rely heavily on Erling Haaland’s goals and other attacking support to compensate for missing midfield strength.
