Wow!
Nikomu to nepovedal, pretože nechcel tlak.

At 67, Bob Bradley became the oldest male in the world to complete an Ice Mile.
He didn't set out to break a record. He was just looking for the next challenge.
After years of marathon swimming and daily cold-water dips in a barrel in his garden, Bob decided an Ice Mile was the logical next step. Quietly, without telling many people, he started preparing.
Then, three days after his qualifier swim, a routine medical test came back with an unexpected result. He had to tell his children he might have to give it all up. Two weeks later, the second test came back normal. He was back on.
On the day of the swim, the two swimmers before him had both been pulled out at the three-quarter mark. Bob got in the water anyway.
"The middle was, this is hard, but I'm still going. I wonder if the boat crew will pull me out. I hope not, but I trust their judgement."
They didn't pull him out.
On 31 January 2026, in a freshwater lake in Hatfield, England, Bob Bradley completed 1 mile in 44 minutes and 59 seconds, in water temperatures of 4.30°C air and 4.00°C water, claiming the IISA world record for his age group.
It was only when browsing the IISA site a week before his qualifier that he noticed the record was even there to be broken. He told nobody as he didn't want the pressure.
When the ratification came through, he let himself celebrate.
"I've always seen myself as a little maverick. Most importantly, it's about leaving my mark on the world for my family, the idea that my grandchildren, maybe even great grandchildren, talk about their crazy ancestor that broke a record."
To anyone in their 50s, 60s or 70s who thinks this isn't for them, Bob's answer is simple: age is not a barrier. It's a strength.
