Today we had an important milestone for Haft Arms, a full testing session of our new short and lighter sword prototypes.

After weeks of design work and preparation, we finally brought them into sparring to see how they perform in real fencing conditions.

The result is very promising. The swords feel fast, responsive, and light, exactly what we want from a compact and playful training weapon.

We are almost there, but we are still looking for the perfect parameter balance. A shorter variant that stays strong in the bind and cuts, while remaining light, fast, and fun to fence with.

We are still deciding one final detail, the proper overall size. The final version will most likely be between 125 cm and 130 cm, and we are carefully evaluating which combination of parameters offers the best balance of speed, reach, and comfort.

If everything continues as planned, we expect to release this new short sword in the coming months.

A rising name in the HEMA world, Haft Arms was founded in 2025 by Ondrej Šauša, a skilled craftsman and engineer with years of hands-on experience. The company's mission is simple: deliver reliable, high-quality fencing gear tailored to the needs of today's HEMA community.

Their feders are designed for tournament use, with a strong focus on safety, maneuverability, and availability. The swords reached their final form thanks to detailed feedback from our club, Trnavský šermiarsky cech, especially regarding blade flexibility, point presence, and grip shape. As a result, we have already practically tested them in sparring sessions and full-day tournaments — and they have proven themselves by contributing to medal-winning performances.

⚔️ What Does This Mean for Tyrnhaw 2025?

Haft Arms crafted two exclusive feders as prizes available ONLY at Tyrnhaw 2025. Their intent is to be the start of a new tradition: a yearly series of unique swords that cannot be bought — they must be earned in competition.

Drawing inspiration from a potential medieval portrait of Lichtenauer, the design incorporates the proven geometry of Haft's standard tournament feder. The engraved symbol on the rainguard blends the TSC emblem with the historic seal of Mesto Trnava, symbolically linking the city to its fencing heritage. The original seal depicted a six-spoked wheel containing the Greek letters alpha and omega, as well as a star and a crescent moon.

Huge congrats to Trnavský šermiarsky cech for taking 1st place at the All For One – One For All 2025 Team Tournament in Prague!

We’re proud to see our Haft Arms feders in action again. ⚔️🔥

🥇1st place for Trnava!

This Saturday, our fencers took part in the All For One - One For All 2025 Team Tournament in Prague, organized by SHŠ Krkavci, žoldnéřská kompanie.

The event started with an individual pool phase, where three of our fencers won all of their matches, securing a strong position for the team elimination rounds.

In the team phase, we faced four exhausting elimination matches, each pushing us to our limits both physically and mentally. After a series of intense fights, our team - Anton Kohutovič , Adrián Majzel, David Piši, and Miroslav Danihel - claimed 1st place after a very tough and exciting final against the Rožnovský šermířský klub - RŠK, who proved to be strong and skilled opponents. ⚔️

Big thanks to the whole SHŠ Krkavci, žoldnéřská kompanie crew for a perfectly organized and enjoyable event, and to all the judges and staff for their hard work throughout the day.
