‼️ Teden dni po zaključku gorskohitrostne dirke “I Feel Slovenia” Ilirska Bistrica je čas še za zadnje dejanje letošnje dirke. Ta je bila tudi letos kljub množični udeležbi uspešno izpeljana do konca, pri tem pa gre najprej zahvala celotni organizacijski ekipi, pokroviteljem in seveda tekmovalcem ter navijačem ob progi.

Dirka je tudi letos potekala na že dobro znanem pet kilometrov dolgem odseku med Ilirsko Bistrico in Šembijami. Prijavljenih je bilo 241 tekmovalcev, na štartu treningov pa se jih je zbralo 221. Dirko je naposled uspešno končalo 191 tekmovalcev. Tekmovanje je bilo del FIA evropskega gorskega prvenstva za moderna in starodobna vozila, ob tem pa tudi državnih prvenstev Avstrije, Hrvaške in Slovenije.

Po petkovih formalnostih z verifikacijo in tehničnimi pregledi sta v soboto sledila dva uradna treninga, v nedeljo pa nato še obe tekmovalni vožnji.

V skupni razvrstitvi je dirko drugič dobil izkušeni Sebastien Petit (nova proto NP01), drugi je bil njegov mlajši brat Kevin Petit (nova proto NP01), tretji pa Čeh Petr Trnka (nova proto NP01). Med avtomobili je bil na sedmem mestu najhitrejši Reinhold Taus (subaru impreza), med Slovenci pa na desetem mestu Vladimir Stankovič (wolf GB0 thunder).

Že zdaj z nestrpnostjo gledamo v leto 2027, ko lahko pričakujemo jubilej dvajset let evropskega gorskohitrostnega prvenstva v Ilirski Bistrici.

🇬🇧 A week after the conclusion of the “I Feel Slovenia” Ilirska Bistrica hill climb, it is time for the final chapter of this year’s event. Once again, despite the large number of participants, the event was successfully brought to a close, with the first thanks going to the entire organising team, sponsors and, of course, the competitors and spectators along the course.

This year’s event once again took place on the familiar five-kilometre section between Ilirska Bistrica and Šembije. A total of 241 competitors were entered, with 221 taking the start of the practice sessions. In the end, 191 competitors successfully completed the event. The competition counted towards the FIA European Hill Climb Championship for modern and historic cars, as well as the Austrian, Croatian and Slovenian National Championships.

Following Friday’s formalities, including administrative checks and scrutineering, Saturday featured two official practice runs, followed on Sunday by the two competition runs.

In the overall classification, experienced Sebastien Petit (Nova Proto NP01) claimed his second victory, ahead of his younger brother Kevin Petit (Nova Proto NP01), with Czech driver Petr Trnka (Nova Proto NP01) finishing third. The fastest driver among the production-based cars was Reinhold Taus (Subaru Impreza) in seventh place, while the best-placed Slovenian was Vladimir Stankovič (Wolf GB08 Thunder) in tenth.

We are already looking forward to 2027, when Ilirska Bistrica is set to celebrate a special milestone – 20 years of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship in Ilirska Bistrica.

‼️ Novi rekordi v Ilirski Bistrici

Na letošnji dirki “I Feel Slovenia” Ilirska Bistrica je p***o tudi nekaj rekordov petkilometrske proge proti Šembijam. Absolutni rekord proge ostaja nedotakljiv, zato pa so štirje vozniki dosegli nove najboljše rezultate v posameznih razredih. Do dveh rekordov je prišla družina Vesnić (oče in sin), odličen rezultat je uspel tudi hrvaškemu vozniku Matiji Jurišiću (peugeot 308 TCR). Svoj lanski rekord je popravil kar za tri sekunde, video njegove vožnje pa kaže na zelo nepopustljiv pristop - še posebej v spodnji šikani.

V konkurenci slovenskega državnega prvenstva je padel nov rekord v Razredu 5B, kjer se je Erik Maglica s škodo fabio prvi spustil pod mejo treh minut (2:59,499), enako pa je nov slovenski rekord med starodobniki postavil Rok Agnič (BMW M3) - 3:00,560.

🇬🇧 New records in Ilirska Bistrica

Several records were also broken at this year’s “I Feel Slovenia” Ilirska Bistrica hill climb on the five-kilometre road towards Šembije. The outright course record remains untouched, but four drivers set new best times in their respective classes. The Vesnić family (father and the son) accounted for two of the records, while Croatian driver Matija Jurišić (Peugeot 308 TCR) also produced an impressive result. He improved last year’s record by no less than three seconds, with onboard footage of his run showing an uncompromising approach – especially through the lower chicane.

In the Slovenian National Championship, a new record was set in Class 5B, with Erik Maglica becoming the first driver to break the three-minute barrier in a Škoda Fabia (2:59.499). Rok Agnič (BMW M3) also set a new Slovenian record among historic cars with a time of 3:00.560.

‼️ Nestijev dirkalnik po 30 letih spet v Ilirski Bistrici

Alessandro Bertanza je v Ilirski Bistrici nastopil s starodobnim športnim prototipom breda BRP 5C. To je isti dirkalnik, s katerim je pred 30 leti proti Šembijam izven konkurence vozil legendarni Mauro Nesti. Bertanza, ki je v konkurenci evropskega gorskega prvenstva za starodobna vozila letos v Ilirski Bistrici osvojil drugo mesto, je dirkalnik temeljito obnovil.

Mauro Nesti velja za eno največjih legend v zgodovini gorskega avtomobilskega športa. Italijan je med letoma 1975 in 1988 osvojil kar devet naslovov evropskega prvaka in 17 naslovov italijanskega prvaka. V Ilirski Bistrici je nastopil že leta 1996, ko je kot predvoznik prvič pripeljal na slovensko gorsko dirko in s svojo pojavo navdušil gledalce.

Nesti je umrl leta 2013, star 78 let, vendar njegovo ime še danes ostaja zapisano med največjimi junaki evropskega gorskega dirkanja.

🇬🇧 Nesti’s race car returns to Ilirska Bistrica after 30 years

Alessandro Bertanza competed in Ilirska Bistrica with the historic Breda BRP 5C sports prototype. It is the same car that legendary hill climb driver Mauro Nesti drove in Ilirska Bistrica 30 years ago. Bertanza, who finished second in this year’s European Historic Hill Climb Championship round at Ilirska Bistrica, has thoroughly restored the car.

Mauro Nesti is regarded as one of the greatest legends in the history of hill climb racing. Between 1975 and 1988, the Italian won no fewer than nine European Championship titles and 17 Italian Championship titles. He appeared in Ilirska Bistrica in 1996, when he made his first appearance at the Slovenian hill climb as a course-opening driver and thrilled the spectators with his presence.

Nesti died in 2013 at the age of 78, but his name remains firmly etched among the greatest heroes of European hill climb racing.

‼️ “Želja po novejšem porscheju je bila že stara, moj dirkalnik čaka doma …”

Matevž Čuden se je že dolgo igral z mislijo o nastopu na gorski dirki z novejšim Porschjevim dirkalnikom. Tokrat je za Ilirsko Bistrico v Italiji najel dirkalnik porsche GT3 cup 992 in si z dvema vožnjama privozil prvo letošnjo, sicer pa drugo zmago za državno prvenstvo.

“Bil sem presenečen, kako velika razlika je, a zdaj se je bilo treba spet marsičesa navaditi na novo,” je Čuden povedal v Ilirski Bistrici. Nekdanji državni prvak bo sezono sicer nadaljeval s svojim dozdajšnjim dirkalnikom.

🇬🇧”I had wanted a newer Porsche for a long time – my own race car is waiting at home…”

Matevz Čuden had been considering competing in a hill climb with a newer Porsche race car for quite some time. For Ilirska Bistrica, he rented a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992 from Italy and secured his first victory of the season in the Slovenian national championship.

“I was surprised by how big the difference was, but now I had to get used to quite a few things all over again,” Čuden said in Ilirska Bistrica. The former Slovenian champion will continue the season with his previous race car.

‼️ Sebastien Petit je zmago posvetil Miru Gardelinu

Sebastien Petit je drugič zmagal v Ilirski Bistrici, kjer je sicer prvič dirkal že pred 22 leti. Takrat ga je v Slovenijo pripeljal takratni organizator dirke Miro Gardelin.

“Bili smo prijatelji in vedno bom njegovo ime nosil v srcu. To zmago posvečam njemu,” je dejal Petit, ki je spregovoril tudi o privlačnosti gorskohitrostnega dirkanja na najvišji ravni, pojasnil pa je tudi, zakaj aktualni Faggiolijev rekord proti Šembijam ostaja “impossible”.

Sebastien Petit won in Ilirska Bistrica for the second time, having first raced there 22 years ago. It was event founder Miro Gardelin who brought him to Slovenia for the first time.

“We were friends, and I will always carry his name in my heart. I dedicate this victory to him,” said Petit, who also spoke about the appeal of top-level hill climb racing and explained why the current record set by Faggioli on the road towards Šembije remains “impossible” to beat.
