Meet Stanislas.
Iโm Stanislas, 39, a husband, a father, a consultant, and a runner who fell in love with exploring the world one trail at a time. After 14 years in Asia, running has taken me through jungles, deserts and mountains, but nothing feels quite like UTMB week in Chamonix.
This year, I lined up for the MCC, the โshortโ race thatโs anything but easy. Fast from the gun, sharp on every climb, and wild on the descents. It was the kind of race where you let your legs fly and trust your instinctsโฆ and your gear.
After years in Brooks trail shoes, the Cascadia Elite finally gave me everything I look for on technical terrain: light, lively, responsive, and so seamless it almost disappears under me. stion. It lets me focus on the moment, not my feet.
On climbs it feels efficient, on descents it gives me control, and on wet rock the Vibram grip is something I never question. It lets me focus on the moment, not my feet.
Crossing the finish arch in Chamonix is a feeling that stays with you. The noise, the mountains, the energy of runners from all over the world. Thatโs the real magic of UTMB. The MCC gave me a taste of itโฆ and now Iโm hungry for more.
Next year, Iโm coming back for unfinished business. Looking at the CCC 100 km.
